I read an online news article about gas prices being like 8.55 there. It was from the same source as an article that said that driving slowly and avoiding the freeway saves gas.

I can't remember which online news thing the saving gas article was on. There are two that I look at and they are very similar in layout

I live in Anchorage. Regular unleaded gas is about 4.40 per gallon. It was 2.75 per gal, one year ago, when I drove to Alaska, from Oregon, so you might want to figure the rate of increase in for whatever you plan.
