"The finest qualities of our nature, like the bloom on fruits, can be preserved only by the most delicate handling. Yet we do not treat ourselves nor one another thus tenderly."

"Life In The Woods" -Thoreau

This made a big impact on me the first time I read it and has stayed with me ever since. What quotes are stuck in your brain and hold special meaning to you?

Whoever smelt it dealt it! rofl

Anyways, I was at a conference this weekend, and all of the key speakers did quotes... and one of them was from the alchemist...

'When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.'

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems.

take charge of your attitude...don't let someone else choose it for you.

The GOLDEN RULE- "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

And my own rendition-

The Golden Rule

Life is fair
Nature is balanced
Pain inflicted comes full circle
And oftentimes will be enhanced
If not at this time, surely at another
Bear in mind the Golden Rule
Lest you seal your own fate...

I use this one in my office all the time. I honestly think most people don't even realize what they are truly capable of. Capability should be taught from K thru life. happy

Beautiful..Thanks ((Fran))flowerforyou

He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.
I bet no one knows who said that quote.

We don't need more money,
we don't need greater success or fame,
we don't need the perfect body or even the perfect mate.

Right now, at this very moment, we have a mind, which is all the basic equipment we need to achieve complete happiness.

It's long, but...

"People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People who really want help may attack you if you help them. Help them anyway. Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt. Give the world your best anyway." -

Mother Teresa
