these imperfections we try to hide

have developed into obsessions
what makes you cry when you're alone
what makes you run from love and what
you wish you could do if only stronger
what you hope no one else will notice
the past missteps you cannot shake
throw them here upon the table
maybe the light and air will kill them
maybe you'll feel a little better
when i pile my load next to yours
and show you that we all are perfect
because we are so imperfect.

Very good! 
I'm just queer about flabby-ing from old age, old bad eating habits, and faded stretch marks. If someone can't stand my innards, they are really missing out, and if they can't stand my outards, don't want them anyway, either!! I YAM WHO I YAM!!

Wouldn't that be a relief - to be able to just unburden ourselves of the insecurities and self-doubt? To know that all our 'dark' would be received with as open arms as our 'light'?
