He tells me I'm not in this alone
Once upon a time I thought this to be so
For every time the spindle appeared with temptation to explore
He spoke of the evil that put it there,
Thankful for the love he gave I sprinted faster the other way
These are very trying times, they're filled with what-if's and long goodbyes
All alone I am again, thoughts adrift, Yes I'll say it I'm frightened
Only twenty-one my best friend just twenty-three
I sleep each night with the notion he is training to be all he can be
Overwhelming emotions swell and burst inside.
He tells me I'm not in this alone
So where is he now?
He's probably out, there are others better than me
It doesn't matter now I've stopped wondering
The truth would probably hurt
So each and every day I carry the weight of my fear all alone
He doesn't call just to say hello
When he is around it's like I'm not here at all
He tells me I'm not in this alone
I wish he'd stop
I AM in this alone at least where he's concerned
My biggest source of comfort comes from the one that had to leave
He puts his own fears in a box and shoves them deeper inside
It'll be alright he says
Its okay to cry...

He's right I'm not
It's just too bad the comfort cannot come from the one who supposedly loves me
