The Indy race was a joke. So many guys had great cars but didnt get a chance to show it!!! If I paid to go I would want my money back..

welcome to th worls of racing,,,i feel like nascar should let th owners buy what tires they wont,,,,,,,,,then you would see better cars up front,,,,,goodyear has always sucked

It was a freekin race in 15 lap segiments..The tires wore out..

I personally quit buying Goodyears a long time ago. I need tires that stay round and give me more than 20,000 miles of good wear..lol
They really blew it at Indy...time to shake-up the quality control and testing divisions!!!

The last time they did that was when they had the Hoosier/Goodyear tire wars. The tires wound up being extremely unsafe because of the competition, so NASCAR put a halt to it.
I DO think that NASCAR needs to come down on Goodyear with both feet. There is NO WAY that one of their premier races should have to be run that way.

The testing before that race had to show excessive tire wear. Somebody at BADyear dropped the wrench on this one!!!

It did show excessive tire wear. Unfortunately, they only had 3 teams testing, and the tire wear that was shown, while more than the norm, wasn't nearly as bad as it was during that race.
The folks at Goodyear were taking a tire test done earlier in the year and trying to apply the data to a late July race. It just doesn't work that way. The track conditions ( such as heat ) were far too different for the data to match up with the conditions at race time.

They sure screwed it up..Dale Jr was at the test and said the tires were wearing out just like they did at the race. I will say there is a fine line, to hard of tire takes the handling away. Remember Atlanta and the troubles they had there..I bet they dont do it next year..

Martin's team may not be enough at DEI but what will he do at Hendrick next year? I think Casey Mears might be a little imbarrassed. And does anyone think Gordon, Johnson, and Jr. as team mates will bring the old Mark back?

I guess DEI is close to signing Truex..I was hoping he would go with Jr. Jr talked about taking Jr Motorsports to the cup level because of cost with bring in the COT to the Nationwide Series...Havnt heard amymore about that.. QUOTE:
