UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM

I'm looking for a friend first. I believe that's the first step.

I love cats (I have two) and The Beatles. These are my two big things. Music in general (classic rock especially) is a HUGE interest for me. I also really love the music of the 20's, and Swing from the 40's. I'm artistic, kind, and VERY honest.

I'm not into sports or outdoor activities really, but if you are, that's ok with me. I'm a reader and movie/music person. I'm kind of boring really I guess...give me my cats, computer, books, music, and movies and I'm a happy camper. Well, actually I don't "camp". When I go on vacation I want things EASIER and BETTER than at home..... not harder and worse! LOL

I'm NOT into game playing of any kind unless it's Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit etc. What you see is what you get with me. I'm funny, eclectic and quirky, but also a deep thinker and looking for a meaningful internal bond with the right person that can appreciate my quirkiness. I laugh easily and find humor in places most people don't even notice. I'm easy going, open-minded (Agnostic remember? I don't profess to know any of the answers to life's mysteries) and ALWAYS willing to compromise.

I'm looking for: Intelligence, honesty, good sense of humor, and kindness are VERY important to me. I'm agnostic, so please no religious fanatics. If you are religious, that's ok as long as you give my views the same respect that you expect for yours. Please don't ask me to go to church. I don't believe you have to "go" anywhere to be a good person. I'm liberal, so conservatives need not apply either. I'm not into kids unless yours are grown. I'd actually prefer someone with no kids, but at our age I suppose that's just about impossible.

If you love music (not country!...but I do have earplugs if you listen to it), animals (especially cats), and are not a right-wing-religious-republican-redneck (which I call "the four R's"), then that's good! You are a hard person to find, especially around here.

Someone that knows how to use the spell checker and cares about the image they put forth is a real good thing too. If you like "quite" evenings at home, I'll assume you are a doofus and pass you by.


I don't party. I got that out of my system a long time ago. I like to eat out every once in a while, I'm not really into shopping unless I need something (imagine that guys!!). I do like finding good bargains, thrift stores and antique shops just to see what treasure I might find though. Basically, I'm pretty much a homebody I guess. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that! I love old movies, The Twilight Zone, and holding hands. I'd put "loves to laugh" in here, but it's been done to death and who doesn't love to laugh anyway?

UPDATE! If you are a smoker, forget it. NO SMOKERS! I quit cold turkey October 2007 and have absolutely no desire to be with anyone that smokes at all. It wasn't that hard and just the first two weeks were rough. I don't even think about it anymore. I keep getting people wanting to meet me that have "smokes occasionally" (whatever that means....either you smoke or you don't) or "smokes often". If I can quit, anyone can.

NOTE - OBSERVATIONS: I'm noticing a trend here. What's the deal with motorcycles? They're OK, I guess (for a risk taker type which is not for me. "Motorcycle = Organ Donor"), but I'd rather be able to carry on a conversation with you than see pictures of a motorcycle. Intelligence is what I'm looking for, not "stuff". The motorcycle does not impress, so put it away and zip up.

I've also noticed this: "the beach", "love the beach", "walks on the beach"....yadda, yadda, Umm, there's not a beach for miles and miles of here!

Last but not least: is hiking. Isn't this just walking around in the woods? When did this become a big deal? I'm seriously wondering about that. I like to walk around in the woods as much as the next person I guess, but I didn't know it was such a mandatory thing to do.

I debated whether or not to add these questions/observations to my profile (motorcycles, the beach, hiking). I don't want to come across as something that rhymes with witch, because I'm not. I've just seen these things over and over to the point where I must address them. I find it comical and a "head scratcher" at the same time.

New Observation: I always thought that "PDAs" were those little annoying electronic gadgets (cellphones?) that tried to take over "pen and paper" (pen and paper never crash btw). I've read a LOT of guys talking about "not upset over PDAs...doesn't mind PDAs" etc. Huh? Then I figured out what those letters stood for in the "dating" world. Then I was wondering why anyone would get upset about kissing or handholding in public. Yet another head scratcher for me I suppose.   Send me a message!
